NEW: On the FOURTH SUNDAY OF THE MONTH our Quaker Meeting for Worship will be held a 3pm
Quaker Meeting is very simple. When we meet on Sundays we sit together "listening" for "that of God within us". There is no pre-arranged service or ceremony and no minister in charge. When someone feels moved to, they stand and share out loud with the Meeting. Ministry may be a thought or a prayer, a question or even a song. Whatever they share will enrich the Meeting going forwards. |
Climate Change - the issue of our time?
********************************************************************************* We do not own the world, and its riches are not ours to dispose of at will. Show a loving consideration for all creatures, and seek to maintain the beauty and variety of the world. Work to ensure that our increasing power over nature is used responsibly, with reverence for life. Rejoice in the splendour of God’s continuing creation. ref: Advices and Queries 1.42 see also : www.quaker.org.uk/our-work/sustainability/our-faith-and-sustainability A special thanks to Andrew Mitchell MP who spoke on this topic and took questions and challenges on government policy prior to the UN climate conference in Poland, 3-14 Dec'18 For more a report of the meeting and discussion click here. |
At Sutton Coldfield, sometimes our Meetings for Worship can be completely silent; when there is spoken Ministry it usually relates to personal experience and social situations.
But in the Silence and in the Ministry, and most definitely together, we find ourselves rested, refreshed, strengthened, inspired... and ready to live as best we can for another week.

At the end of the hour we all shake hands and share a drink, a biscuit and a lot of chat with each other.
Children are welcome. Please advise us on the "Contact us" form when bringing children so we can plan appropriate activities. Our children usually join us in Meeting for the first 15 minutes or so. They then have their own supervised activities for the rest of the hour.
Other things that we do include regular meals together, study groups, prayer groups, and an ad hoc programme of walks, outings and other social events.
